    Default impellor help

    i installed a new impellor and now im overheating. I think i have in backwards or something. does anyone know were i can see a pic. of witch way it goes. Im ready to hit the water and it sucks. thanks

    I don't believe you can put it in backwards. unhook the hose coming from the impeller at the motor ,start it up and see if your getting lots of water. Could be a loose clamp before the impeller and your sucking air. How long before you overheat?

    If you have an older PCM with the 351 Ford, you can install the pump backwards. If you did, you have the suction and output backwards. And yes you will need a new impellor. Did you check and verify all blades were instact or did you find the broken blades from the old impellor. They lodge in the Tstat housing. Al

    Your pump should look like this if you have a 351 W.The hoses should be on the engine side.
    When you get it right put an arrow on it so you remember how it goes.

    thanks for the pic. It takes 5 min or better at idle to overheat. Im not getting any water out the exaust. I found that out because the hose blew and no water was leaving. By the way it cost 92 bucks to get the 2 hoses
