Default Any Texas Lakes worth the trip?

I am wondering if anyone out there has been on Lake Conroe, Livingston, or Somerville lately. I live in Houston and wondering if any of those lakes are worth a trip now considering the low water. If you know a boat ramp that still is in service that would help.

If not the only option I know of is Lake LBJ (constant level and all).

Lake Livingston is good. I use one of the 2 ramps at Livingston State Park.

I grew up on Sommerville and Conroe & both are now too low for me - even if you can find an open ramp. Sandbars are popping up everywhere on Sommerville & Conroe's pretty much worthless north of 1097 bridge. I went up to Lake Bryan 8/28. It was low & the ramp was steep, but usable - the channel was still 25-35 ft. It's small & traffic and/or wind would tear it up quickly.

Launchman - I too hear LBJ is still good (but gotta run the wildfire gauntlet to get there from here)

Jet - Thanks for the invite, but careful - you may end up with all of south Texas crowding your lakes (unless we convert to closed loop cooling & run the intercoastal).

Thanks KG. While I'd love to get back to my birth state and college town (Go Hogs!) to visit the lakes of my childhood summers (Beaver, Bull Shoals, White Rock, & Tenkiller, OK), for now I'll have to stay contented with the remaining shallow brown puddles we have down here. I only make it back to grandma's house in Ft. Smith each Christmas - not exactly boating season. Maybe someday, I can save enough for fuel and convince the wife to make a 1000 mile round trip with the Saltare in tow.
