Back in my dumber days, we would be out riding two weeks after the ice broke on the lake at my buddies place. We would get a raging bonfire going out back, crank the heat in the cabin and also have a fire going in the fire place, wet suits and dock start and hopefully a dock or close to a dock finish.

    Great pics, KG. What lake?

Yea, I remember the days of my youth... As the water would cool - first a shorty, then full suit, then full suit filled with warm shower water, then finally a drysuit. I've got pics from college days running the slalom course on Beaver Lake with ice on the shore. But now after so many years in Texas (and too many old injuries), I think my watersports run the "rule of 30". Take my age and add 30 to calculate the minimum water temp for me to get wet. At 17 - I did sub 50 degrees, at 30 - I could handle 60, but now at 47 - 77 degrees sounds about right...

Those pics are Hamilton. It's close and good for weekday trips. Usually a Ouachita goer. I've only been on Beaver once.

Check out the glass in the background. Too bad we couldnt enjoy it.. battery was dead! I was heartbroken. Nevertheless, we climbed in and enjoyed some refreshments
