    Default Comp Club!

I agree dickboxers. I am a 2 week owner of an 87 Comp with Ford 351 that will turn over but not start. As an observer I am getting to know this site well, as I think she will be a bit of a project.

I have an 88 Comp. I will try to find the new pictures from last weekend. Still get comments most days at the ramp. Been looking to get into the wake boats, but there is just something about that boat that keeps pulling you back. No tower, no ballast, just pure boat. And a new 242 can't do a power turn!

    That's funny!

Really, it bent your rudder? I've done it several times, but only to a stop, which is about 180 degrees of turn, then the boat stops dead in the water. I did it once pulling my girls in the tube from my pylon, and the tube drifted right up to my bow. I stopped before the tube did!

You must be getting more agressive than me. Do you turn then yank the throttle or the other way around? I pull of the power, then as the weight transfers forward, I add the turn input and the stern will slides around.

Long ago, I used to ski with a group of friends who put on ski shows. They had this cool trick that they called "Around the boat" where two skiers would ski around the boat. I never had an oppertunity to try it, but it sure looked cool. Two skiers would ski out on either side of the boat from the wake with a bunch of speed on, and when they came abreast of the boat, they would begin to turn back in, and the driver would initiate a power turn, reversing the boats direction, while the skiers continued skiing the turns they had intiated until they returned to the wake, now heading in the opposite direction. This was really impressive to see, but actually really simple to perform. The skiers just ski, and the boat driver justs drives, no big deal.

Someone needs to try this with video camera to post!

    Default My 96 Comp

Great boat. Slalom skier from the 70's and 80's -- kids love to wakeboard. The Comp does it all. Second owner. Original owner ran in fresh water and kept in garage (as do I) the entire life of the boat. 238 hours. All original. Factory tower with shade n' store installed this month. Shade n' store is great asset on a boat this size. Pics taken with my iPhone, so quality is not great. Digicam pics too large to upload. Will add some more as time goes by.

I have an 86 Supra Sun Sport Skier (purchased about 1 month ago) - we will be doing some work this winter - mostly floor (stingers) and adding some ballast.
