Put my 02 Supra SSV in the water for the first time

Hello Supra Forums! I've been stalking this site since I picked up my Supra in October and I thought it was time to introduce myself and ask a couple questions too. I bought it winterized so wasn't even sure i ran it until this weekend. Overall everything is good except a couple small issues.

It looks like there is a leak coming from the Vdrive. If my research is correct I should just have to tighten a nut up to slow the leak down. I also might have to change some rope inside if it's worn out, does that sound right?

Even though the boat didn't come with any ballast bags, it did come with the pumps. We tried to test the pumps with very little success. The blue fitting is the fill line right? The front only pumped a little bit of water and the rear didn't pump anything. Also the drain tubes (if the blue is the fill tubes) are blocked off (see pic below). Could this keep water from coming out?

The biggest issue I have is my non working depth gauge. We go in some pretty shallow places and a gauge is a must. Right now it's showing a bunch of random numbers. Also, one of the 2 speedometers is really off. Any thoughts on how to square this away. And what's the point of two speedos anyways?

The fill lines will come from a through hull fitting located in the bilge area most likely. probably near the v-drive. The drain tubes will will probably exit the boat through the side next to the bilge pump exit.
And yes you are correct about the packing nut for adjusting the drip at the drive shaft. Adjusting it is easy but reaching it can be a bit of a bugger. Make sure you don't over tighten though. you do want a small amount of water entering for lubrication.

The only thing I can add is to check the ball valve for the ballast pump. It will be right at the through-hull water pickup for the ballast pump. It turns 90 degrees to open or close it. If it was winterized, it was likely closed.

You may also need to check for sprinkler valves in your v drive area that would control water flow to the ballast hoses depending on your setup/install. They control the fill side.

There's probably a check valve of some kind to keep water from flowing into the boat. Check near the through-hull fitting.

The speedos are probably suction -- you'll find two pitots on the back of the boat. They may be clogged or have sucked up some debris. This is why there are 2 of them -- they were frequently clogged/disabled during a competition slalom run and you'd need some kind of accuracy to maintain speed. Here's what they look like



Gently pull the little black hose off of the top of that and try to blow some air (DO NOT OVERDO IT!) through the pitout body to clear it out. Check if the pitot is cracked or disconnected. It should get you going again.

I've got no idea on the depth finder -- hopefully someone else can help!

I got my 03 ssv last summer. Love it! My ballast bags sort of filled and sort of drained. Once I found the valves, I opened them up and found all sorts of debris inside. Cleaned it out and voila!, the bags fill and drain nicely.

For the speedo, I thought I first read it wasn't working at all. If it is off on speed, there is 2 silver knobs on the bottom by you right knee toward the bow that you dial in the speed based on a gps or timing run. I know on our boat, 3K RPM is ~30 when just me in it, so I can do a quick ride to get them set if they got bumped.
