    Somehow I managed to forget to measure the height of the stringers where the motor sits. I may have it written down somewhere, but I cannot find it. Can someone confirm this for me? Height from the bottom of the hull, or measure down from the top of the stringer to the top of the 4x4 area. Thanks!

    I have exact same boat and I just removed my engine to replace part of my stringers. My measurements from the hull bottom to the top of the mount is 5 1/8" in the aft and 5 1/4" in fwd.

    Time for a long overdue update! Since my last progress post, I have been hard at work. I spend two or three weeknights after work, and generally all weekend on this thing. The time has been flying since October!

    I had my neighbor from my cottage come over both days after Christmas to help me glass in the 4 main stringers. Each stringer received a layer of 1.5 oz mat, 1708, 1708, and another layer of 1.5 oz mat. These stringers are stout, they wont be going anywhere. To make life easy, the tops of the stringers will be glassed with some heavy cloth since the cloth conforms to the stringer nicely and is not messy like mat. The top pieces overlap the bottom layers. The tops of some of the stringers are done in the pictures, I have been doing them as I go. It took two of us 8 hours for two days to glass in the 4 main stringers. My neighbor stayed in the boat as I hopped in and out to mix resin, cut glass, and take care of odds and ends. I was in the boat laying glass for a majority of the time though. What a HUGE job, but lots of fun. It took a lot longer than I thought but I am glad that part is over.

    I re-opened the drain holes up front, and I keep coating them in resin as I work around the boat. My Dad cut the 2x4 stringers over the past few weeks and they all received a layer of mat on the bottom, and have been fully glassed in at this point. The front two have yet to be glassed in as I only made them Saturday evening and they had to setup first. I spent sunday afternoon recreating the 1/2" center stringer up front under the bow rider, as well as the bulkhead for it. Since I am removing the built in cooler, this piece did not need to be notched. I used a multi-tool to clean the center of the hull as best I could, and scribed the new piece to contour to the hull. I set it in "Gunk" and braced it while it cured.

    Monday evening I spent my time cutting and preparing fiberglass for the motor box area, the center stringer and bulkhead, and various other areas for reinforcement. I covered one side of the bulkhead in a layer of mat and 1708 as well. I will flip it over and do the other side tonight. This weekend I hope to drop the motor in and test fit it to see where I need to place the 1/2" plywood shim for the front of the motor, as well as make any other adjustments before final glasswork and paint.
