Default How do I replaced the steering cable in a '95 22SSV?

Arrrrrrrrrgh...I just noticed that I asked about replacing the steering cable in a 1995 22 SSV, but I have a 2005 22 SSV.

Steering cable is toast on my 2005 22 SSV and I need to replace it but I can't figure out how to remove the floor so I can route the new cable. Any insight how to remove the floor, or is there another way to route a new cable?

i don't know specifically for a 95 but the older boats have a hole in the floor under the dash area for routing wires and controls to the bilge, bilge pump hose routes thru it as well.

The easiest way I have found is to tape a rope to the end of the old cable and pull the rope through when you remove your old cable. Once you have the rope through you can attach/tape the new cable to it and pull it back the opposite direction. The ends were the hardest part to get through the cut out in the floor but with some finesse it goes through. Good luck!
