84 rider steering cable

i just bought a 84 rider and the steering is stiff the guy said he replace a few years ago but i dont think he routed it right how dose it go under the dash mine goes in a big loop and then goes in the floor i just want to know if it might be in a bind

no loop on my 87, maybe he bought a cable that was too long?...maybe he thought that was the bilge hose??

disconnect the cable at the rudder end and see if it is still stiff. you might find some grease zerks on the cable if you get lucky. the rudder should have zerks too.
