What the heck is happening here?? And how do I actually go about having this repaired? Thoughts

Not sure how it happened, probably from flexing over time, or impurities in the metal. A skilled metal worker / welder can grind out the crack and weld it back up it for you. Do it now before it gets worse

Disconnect anything plastic or rubber or you will melt it (I actually did this... Dumb).

No Tubes that I am aware of. It's second or third hand, so not too sure of the prior owners knowledge of that no,no. Just caught me by surprise.
The only repair you can do is welding, drills holes in each end of crack first the weld. Michael
The crack appears to go almost 50% of the diameter. If that's the case it's time for a new piece, not just weld it up.
It's hard to tell from your pic if it's just dirty or if the crack wraps around with the weld.
