That's pretty critical to know if you are winterizing your own boat. Unless it was removed, you should have a strainer...and if you have never checked/drained/ or cleaned it, that very well may be the problem. If it froze over the winter, it could have cracked. Then, being on the suction side of the pump, the pump may only be pulling air. And, of course, you may have lucked out and it is just clogged.Originally Posted by torch
