This is a bit of a duh statement but make sure it will accept LakeMaster chips or something equivalent for depth charts.

Something like this might work well, need to verify that it will accept map chips.

The Lowrance iFinder is compatible with various software and the newer Garmin handhelds are now compatible with Navionics.
If you have a smart phone you could always download the Navionics App as well.

Thanks for the input I've asked my boating friends and no one has navionics so I might as give it a try
Let me know what you think of the app. My family has some of the lake master and Navionics chips for their fishing boats and they work great. Never tried the app though

Navionics app on your phone or a tablet. I use it on my phone on the river and unfamiliar lakes. It's awesome. A fancy purpose built dedicated unit is overkill for a ski boat when you can get the same info on your phone.
Thanks all downloaded Navionics to my iPhone headed to lake Barkley and Kentucky lake this weekend for a week will give my opinion when I get home
