Deposit $2500 fully refundable as long as you are ordering a boat the dealer can sell and not a green and orange with blue interior.
My order went in 10/31. My build slot is in December and depending on weather will arrive to dealer in January or February. Each dealer gets so many build slots for the year. SC only has capacity to build 1700-1800 boats per year. (1200 moomba and 500 Supra). So when build slots are full, they are sold out. My dealer sold all of their Supra slots by October this year and only have a couple moomba slots left.
The pandemic has caused boat sales to over triple. Boating is one of the few family activities you can do outdoors. Certainly not a normal year for boat sales.
That said. I won’t get the boat until spring when the lakes open as Dealer has to water test it as part of delivery. I live in Michigan.
In 2018 I chose the SA over the NEW SL based solely on cost, big mistake. Despite the $10k+ price difference, the SL was latest tech and features. Should have got an SL.
Fast forward to now, I chose the NEW SA over SL because the SA is the latest greatest tech and features and the SL will be redesigned next year. Same price. I have plenty of room in the SA and it’s just the sweet spot on size.
SA is also just a perfect boat for my family and crew, does wakesurf and wakeboarding at epic levels. Also fits perfectly in my barn
I average 50 hours per year. Although, I see this next year increasing based on the trips we have booked.
4 years ago I was dead set at never owning a boat, the old “bust out another thousand” and two best days of boat ownership is first and last rang in my head.
Wife and son talked me into it, and the last 3 summers have been incredible!!! One of the best family decisions we made. I knew going in that we had a 5-8 year boating window as my son will be going off to college next fall and likely will want to do his own things as he grows older no doubt. Going to enjoy these family summers while they last.
