Hello All!

I need some help. I am getting a late start this season and went to change the oil in the boat. I found the oil was contaminated with water in both the oil sump and the oil filter. I am looking for how I got water in the oil. Online searches tell me it could be one of numerous issues: a blown head gasket, cracked engine block or cylinder head; faulty intake or exhaust manifold gasket; leaking water pump; engine oil cooler failure; and condensation.

Based on how milky the oil was and the fact that I found contamination in the oil filter, I don't think it is condensation or water seeping past the oil pan gasket. My first thought is the oil cooler is leaking, but for the life of me, I can NOT locate the oil cooler on this engine. I found the transmission oil cooler, but not the engine oil cooler. Does anyone know where the oil cooler is on this engine?

One note: The only thing I did differently last year while winterizing was that I changed the thermostat. Is it possible this somehow caused oil contamination (I don't see how, but...)

Thank you in advance!

Rodger
