Rear flip up seat

I’m having issues with the rear flip up seat / transom step in my 2023 SL and wondering if anyone else has had this problem. We used it flipped up the other day when surfing and after sliding it back to the transom, it won’t latch in place. Now, when you step on it, it wants to flip up. I figured I’d see if anyone has a simple fix before i start digging into the issue.

I figured out what my issue was with the flip up seat. I took off the black plastic cover to expose the latch mechanism. It’s an interesting design. The problem was that the plunger spring on one side was getting caught on the thru hole which was preventing the plunger from seating properly. I rotated the spring about 90 degrees so when it compresses and buckles, it does so in a different direction and doesn’t catch on the hole. This doesn’t give me a warm fuzzy on the long term reliability for this fix but so far so good.IMG_5344.jpgIMG_5348.jpgIMG_5350.jpg
