Boat US only insures boats they have a bunch of benefits like towing if you break down in the middle of the lake. They know boats and what it takes to repair them.
If you have some money in your boat make sure you get the stated value coverage otherwise you will get only the NADA pricing for your baby. I know Boat US will do stated value. I have it on my 89.

On my boat it only had a petcock on 1 side and the knock sensor on the other. I remove the knock sensor completely. I have also removed the petcock and replaced with a solid plug so I do take it out all the way and leave them out. The petcocks seam to get clogged all the time.

I also have agreed value on my boat instead of nada pricing so my value does not depreciate every year. I have a lot more coverage for less money now than what I did with my previous boat insurance company. My dad also swithced over to boat us this year on my 26ft center console and saved a lot of money with better coverage. HE switched from progressive.

I work with alot of insurance claims on repairs, I would have to say that Progressive is the worst company to deal with. State Farm is the best. Now whenever I have an estimate for insurance coverage I ask who the insurer is. It is sad to say you have to pad the estimate if it is Progressive. The adjuster will take a full afternoon figuring the claim, and then they alway try to lower it. Good luck with Boat US. They are pretty fair, Usually the claim is paid within a week. Al

    Default update to this

Well after doing testing adn narrowing it down they came to the conclusion that the head gasket needed to be replaced. While doing this they visually inspected the head on the starboard side of the engine. Well after it was all put back together and ran on the hose it is still getting water in the oil once the boat has warmed up. They now believe the head has a crack in it that was not visible so they are sending it to get magna fluxed. SO i guess even here in florida I am going to have to start using anitfreeze when I winterize. Who would have thought. They are atleast saying it would be considered freeze damage if the head or block has a crack in it so my insurance will take care of it.

That is great that the insurance will pay for it, but what a bummer that it happened in the first place
