Kevin sanded off the old stuff, they had applied some sort of coating over the teak wood. Then we just reapplied teak oil - 2 coats! the bottom pic is what it looked like before.

Seriously, it looks great. Refinishing teak is a PITA for sure, but the results are beautiful & classic. Good job.

You think that's a PITA...the previous owner of my ski supreme painted the swim platform with 3-4 coats of a heavy, plasticised black paint...it's been a fun stripping job so farOriginally Posted by sybrmike
