Take a canoe trip one day back there. Around that next left turn it gets really shallow, like dry spots shallow. But you can work your way through. About 150 yds past the shallow it gets deep again for a long time. Me and some buds snaked our jet skis up there when it rained and it was bad ass cruising up there where we knew no boat had been.

Sooo just flipping through the forums and noticed your paint job, I think that looks sick! I will have to keep this in mind when I get done with other projects on my Saltare. I bought the boat and price was right, it is the infamous "Baby Blue" removed the stripes, even the old ghost stripes that are now the new "pin stripe" I dont really like the color of. So eventually I would like to change the color scheme, to match the new interior. Black and White, all in good time! ANyways, sweet paint, I will have to remember how easy you made it look, and try it myself! You said you sanded it, how low did you take it to rough it up 600-800, how did you prep it? Well good time, thanks for the pictures, Devon.

deff looking good. I was actually planning to do the exact same thing to mine! You went for the lighter blue over the dark blue original color. I am more partial to the light color, but the dark blue looked good too.

Hopefully its as easy as you made it look when I do it.

Curious to know what grit sandpaper you went with, and roughly how long it took you to clean the hull up before painting? I was hoping for only a few hours prep time. I have some pretty deep gouges in mine though, so I will prolly have to fill them first.

That's not bad for that boat. In fact, from what I read your boat needs, that sounds pretty good. I know of a red Sunsport in Missouri that can be had for $11,750 and is in immaculate shape with a stereo. His ad is still listed, don't know if he still has it though.

But if you want a newer one, you'll need more than $11.

Me, I don't do spur of the moment things, so think it through before you pull the trigger.

As soon as I can get my boat sold for anywhere near 10 - 11K I will do it. I want a 92 or newer so I can get the composite stringers. The boat itself works fine, but I dont want rot to deal with

I sanded it down with 400 grit. this is not a job for someone who does'nt know how. it is pretty hard and time consuming. Not to toot my own horn to much but i'm pretty good at this stuff and it took me almost 10 hours of sanding and prep work just to get it ready for paint then another 3 hours of painting. its not easy to say the least.
