Thread: perko question

    Default perko question

I have two batteries on a perko switch. Is there anything wrong with switching from battery one to battery two or both while the motor is running? Thanks for all the help on the forum.

No problem - The Perko switch is a "make before break" type switch. You will simply have both batteries connected momentarily before "switching" to the other. The "ALL" position is between position 1 and 2.

    Jet -
Ground just requires a jumper from one battery to the other and your existing ground wired to just one battery. Then you'll run a hot cable from each battery to the switch, and another hot cable from the switch to your starter solenoid. So really there's just a minimal amount of additional cable from what you already have for one battery. Ground is common and you're swithching the hot. I used #2 welding cable to make mine custom fit.
