Default Found a Mystery Item in my bilge during Winterization

Found this lodged under the oil pan this year. Pretty sure it was not there this Spring. Anyone know what this could be and if it serves a useful purpose? It looks like it has adhesive on one side but the backing is still on it. Could this have been under the fuel tank and since the backing was not removed it finally came loose and floated out?

My boat is old but there were rubber/foam spacers between the gas tank and the mounting straps. Maybe the new ones have something similar?

Yeah, thats what I was thinking- looks just like the fuel tank strap chafe guards on my old '90 fuel tank.

Anyone had an under the floor plastic tank out yet? I guess I could pull up the floor, but I have not noticed any strange vibrations or noises. Of course if there is a metal strap wearing away at my plastic fuel take, I guess I would not hear it until it's too late.

Yep I have taken my tank out. Because the the floor was put down and the tank was pinched and started leaking fuel at 100+/- hours. The tank is easy to pull. It would be worth taking a look.

Yep rubber spacers to keep the aluminium straps from rubbing holes in the gas tank. Jet

What winterizing already, sluggo? But the post season party is only beginning.

But yeah they look like the spacers to keep the metal straps from eating away your gas tank.

Yeah, like I said, my crew is very fair weather. I wish I lived closer to you guys if your still out or that Nuclear reactor lake. Other than having webbed feet and a third eye ball, I could dig boarding all year around.
