Stargazer perfect pass acting strange

Normally when I turn the key on, my stargazer perfect pass hooks up to the satellites almost instantly. Today I went out for a boat ride at about 3:00 the perfect pass was acting normally. I notice somewhere around 5:00 that it was taking about from 45 seconds to 60 seconds for the perfect pass to capture the satellite signals. At first I thought maybe I had a loose connection. After checking all of my connections I come to the conclusion everything seemed to be fine. Has anyone else had this problem?

I read some where if the battery in the antana battery goes dead it will cause this.
