Let's see... Time for an update. I found some boat cusions on Ebay that were similar in dimensions to my rear cushions... They were going for $20 a piece with $35 shipping for all three. I figured, what the heck, it would at least get be by.

So, when I got the cushions, there was 1/2 tear on the side of one and an 1/8 inch tear on the side of another. I asked the vendor his thoughts and he jumped up and refunded me all but $10 and let me keep them. So, for $10, I'll make these work as something to get me by until I have a few hundred extra for custom replacements.

They were about an inch narrower than my rear cushions. So, I stripped off all but the composite bases of my OEM cushions and just attached these new ones to the OEM bases. Basically, they look like the new cushions are sitting in cafeteria trays. But they are comfy enough to sit in and they'll get me by. It's a little ghetto-fabulous, but for $10, it's better than big gaping rips.

I also started working on getting the boat cover up to snuff. the nose of it had a lot of cracking on the vinyl, so I put some black gorilla tape over it to keep it from getting worse. I also used some BMW Soft top cleaner on the cover and will be applying some 303 fabric guard when the temp gets high enough to have it cure nicely (it says over 70 degress on the bottle). I even took a lint roller to the cover because a cat used it for a bed when the previous owner had it and I needed all that cat hair to be gone. Yuck!

More an more of my stereo upgrades have been showing up, so I hope to have time to start tackling some of that.

    Pics from last weekend:

Even though it wasn't warm out, we had some happy passengers:

Pic of my friend goofing off, but you can actually see how my rear cushions came out... Good enough to get by.

Looks like everyone is having fun! Make sure those seat cushions don't fly out at speed!

I doubt that would happen. they aren't exactly light. and they're screwed to the OEM cushion bottoms. But yeah, I guess there's no side tension like OEM cushions would have.

Nice I hate how stuff gets stuck down in-between the 3 seats now... only problem the center seat on my boat is the backrest for a swivel seat.

That is a great looking Sunsport it has the same tower as my 2002 Launch SS, my buddy had a 89 Sunsport for 14years and he sold it 4 years ago for around 10,000 and bought a 2004 Launch SS. The only concern I would have is floor rot but seeing it is a 1992 that may be the year they stopped using wood for the floor and stringers. Anyone confirm this as the year they switched to composite floor and stringers???

Nice Loooking boat, just get some vinyl replaced and install some Wet Sounds Rev8 Speakers on the tower along with
some Roswell board racks and Roswell Mirror and that Boat will look and sound as sharp as any other wake board boat
    on the water

    Enjoy

Thanks for the compliments. Tower speakers are probably going to have to wait until next season. But I will defintitely be doing a phase 1 upgrade to my current stereo. A couple amps, new speakers and a sub are in the works.

It is the all composite. 92 is the cutover year and you can tell that since I have the rounded windshield that I'm composite and good to go!

I'm hoping that if I can get some decent weather that I can get the graphics put on. then it'll look awesome!

here's a pic of my boat as I was learning about the fun of launching a direct drive in the current. (the prop spun my stern towards the dock on the starboard side and the current was flowing the other direction so it was pushing my nose away from the dock. We were taking my mom out on the boat for mother's day weekend, so she just watched me struggle and took pics! ROFL!

But at least it's a halfway decent on the water pic.

That's been the biggest challenge in my v drive... mostly the docking, still learning the slow speed maneuvers ...!
