Default Have I ever told you....

    ...how much I hate wiring!!!!?!!!
I really really HATE wiring! I have been working on my new dash with new rocker switches for the past couple weeks, and Im still not done! It would help if there was a wiring diagram that actually matched my boats wiring! Instead I have to look at three different wiring diagrams and then guess whihc one is going to work. I think I am almost done, but only time will tell when I connect power to it and find a fire or not

If any of you Saltare owners hav epictures or references that I can look at for under the dash, please send them my way!!

    *rant over*

Also, are you looking for pics from under the Dash? I can probably take some for you.

Lol, yeah, I wish somebody else had done this before me
I do have pictures of the dash and switches but not on this computer. When I get home I will post some.
And yes, I will take pictures of under the dash if you have them.

What are you wiring? What's the issue? Rocker switches shouldn't be too hard to get wired up... are you looking for hot wires, grounds?

I hate it, but I think I got it all done. I will of course still have to install it and test out to see what happens. I also am going to have to do some touch ups on the painting and tidy everything back up into harnesses. So hear is what it looks so far.

Here is a picture of the back of the rocker switches. Each switch will have a dedicated power and ground coming from a Blue Sea 12 Terminal Fuse Panel.

The wires are colour coded and the manual lists them doesn't it?

Here is the back of the gauge cluster.

My biggest concern is which wires to run from the ignition. My original '87 dash had a push button switch for ignition and then had the keyed igntion. The back of the keyed ignition has three prong's labeled: S, I, B. I have a yellow/red 10gauge wire, a red 10 gauge wire that is merged together with an orange 10gauge wire. I also brought the ACC line over to the ignition since now there is no switch for ACC. And then I have two purple 14gauge wires that come from two separate harnesses. I need to know where to put these wires or atleast what the S, I and B stand for.

    Thanks

    Very confusing!

The best thing for wiring is a continuity tester. This is where when a loop is achieved a sound or tone is mades by the device, This way you can quickly determine what things do without running power through any circuts. This is very helpfull when someone has butched a harness to install something years ago without any true thought behind it.

I could see some vinyl carbon fibre or such to finish the cut out.
