Weird! My trapps had holes in them on the end cap that only covered about 120degrees of the surface.

Ok, so I don't have the pictures on my phone or computer when I removed my trapps but I think we are all talking about the same thing, just not the same part/area. The pucks that are sandwiched between the end cap and the transom are where the exhaust all come out. I have a short video clip of my boat running with the trapps before I removed them. It happens fast but you can see when there is a surge of water coming out the exhaust that it flows out in all directions.

Those look to be an "after market" mod done by a previous owner. All the classic supras that I see in lifts on our lake that still have the trapps all look like the ones I took off and the ones that Rob showed as well. That sure is interesting though, perhaps they were trying to "open" the exhaust up some.

Yeah, that looks similar to someone drilling out the baffle on motorcycle exhaust pipes to "open it up." That's definitely not stock.
Hah! I never realized that. Pretty sure I sent them to another board member so they are probably still in use.
And they definitely made a difference as far as how the exhaust was exiting and the water was being splashed/churned.
